Lake Endeavour Dam - 2013 to 2015 - completed

For the Lake Endeavour Upgrade the solar powered Early Warning System formes a very important part of the safety / security of the dam. Besides Lean Project Management, the team have also delivered the innovative remote monitoring solution which consists of a telemetry system and a predictive modelling and warning solution.

"Parkes Shire Council initially engaged UMINEX for the Project Management and HSECQ Supervision of the Lake Endeavour Dam Safety Upgrade Project.

UMINEX did an excellent job of managing the stakeholders including the initial designers, the EPA, the Office of water, DPI Fisheries as well as all stakeholders from Parkes Shire Council.

Due to their involvement PSC has overachieved its targets, in particular in regards to HSEQ and the grant funding support".

Taronga Zoo

Remote Irrigation Power Supply - 2015 - completed

Taronga Zoo developed a Eucalypt Plantation at Richmond NSW to supply fresh feed to the Koala population at Taronga Zoo, Mosman NSW. The area is environmentally sensitive as the plantation is on the Richmond flood plains. Stage one is 10 000 seedlings planted.

The cost to provide grid connected water and electricity to the site was prohibitive

A Complete Off grid electrical system designed to provide maximum demand, 5 days autonomy using PV solar and a lead acid Raylite battery kit 900 a/h.

New Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants - 2014 - ongoing

Parkes Shire Council's Water and WasteWater Plants are ageing infrastructure and construction of the new plants is underway on 2 green field sites.

Each plant receives a 100KW/h Solar Array which when operational will provide a large part of the power used for the operation of the new plants. In order to maximise the renewable energy impact, the programming of the control systems has been synchronised with the expected output from the Solar Array and the demands created by the use and discharge by the community.

This approach was taken to ensure the most economical water treatment and pumping can be achieved.

Organic Chicken Farm

OFF GRID Power Supply - 2015 - completed

The owner developed an organically certified free-range chicken farm. The challenge was to provide enough electricity to provide heat and cooling, egg washing and packing machinery, water pressure pumping, borewater pumping. Some equipment at the site requires three phase electricity supply and at different stages of chicken raises electricity is required to provide heat to grow day old chicks.

The cost to provide grid connected water and electricity to the site was prohibitive.

Water: The site is completely water autonomous using captured water utilizing land and roof structure and also using bore pumping.

Electricity: Complete Off grid three phase electrical system designed to provide maximum demand, 5 days autonomy using PV solar and a lead acid battery kit . The solar array exceeds 30 kWp and the site know has a complete electrical mini-grid system in place.

Riverglade Park - HUNTERS HILL

OFF GRID Power Supply - 2015 - completed

HHC required a new toilet block facility in Riverglade Park, Hunters Hill. The area is environmentally sensitive as the low-lying area feeds into the Lane Cove River system.

Connecting electricity and sewage was not cost prohibitive:

The solution includes a complete off grid electrical system designed to provide maximum demand, 5 days autonomy using PV solar and a BAE battery kit 1200 a/h .

The system is monitored back to base 24 hrs per day to unsure correct flow rates , energy consumption and renewable energy input .
